The history of Stonehenge is really fascinating
My partner and I really enjoyed visiting Stonehenge. We got our money's worth! Stonehenge was especially intriguing since we've never seen such an old monument in person. Our guide Christine told us so many stories and theories about who built it and why. It encouraged me to buy a book on Stonehenge, which I am now reading. Highly recommend it to everyone!
Had so much fun on this Stonehenge tour from London
I went on this tour with a friend. It was a full day tour, and we visited Stonehenge, Bath, and Windsor Castle. My friend loves the esoteric and the occult, and he is convinced that Stonehenge was built by the ancient aliens. He didn't care much about the scientific explanations offered by our guide. He said he felt some kind of presence the whole time we were there. I didn't feel it, but I said that I did just to tease him. Luckily he didn't feel any ghosts at Windsor Castle haha! All in all, I really enjoyed this tour!

A VISIT TO THE ROYAL WINDSOR CASTLE
You'll start the Stonehenge Tour from London by visiting Windsor Castle. Built by William the Conqueror, this royal palace is almost a thousand years old. As you begin the walking tour, follow your guide to the State Apartments. Admire the huge collection of armor and old weapons. You will pass through the halls and chambers where kings and queens held receptions and royal banquets. Next, visit St. George's Chapel, where you'll see tombs of many English monarchs, including Elizabeth II and Henry VIII. On this small group tour, you will also visit Queen Mary's Dolls' House. This incredible miniature house is equipped with working appliances. Did you know this was made as a birthday present? It took three years and 1,500 craftsmen to complete it! If only we could all get a birthday present like it.
STONEHENGE - THE MEGALITHIC ENIGMA
As you arrive at Stonehenge, take a moment to appreciate the sight in front of you. This Neolithic monument is thousands of years old. Listen to your guide as they tell you what archeologists have uncovered so far. Learn about what is known and what still baffles the scholars. For example, we know that some of the stones were brought from Preseli Hills in Wales. That's 250 kilometers (150 mi)! How was that even possible with Stone Age technology? People of earlier eras believed it was done by magic. Your guide will tell you about the so-called Merlin myth. You will also hear more plausible explanations and archaeological evidence. However, although we know a lot about Stonehenge, its purpose is still a mystery. Was it an astronomical calendar? A place for ceremonies? A holy burial ground? A healing center? Learn about the theories and speculations and decide for yourself.
GUIDED TOUR OF BATH
On this Stonehenge Tour from London, you will visit the city of Bath. It is often named as the most beautiful city in England. The reason is the well-preserved buildings from the 18th-century Georgian era. During the guided tour, you will visit the Royal Crescent, an elegant neighborhood of opulent houses and mansions. Later, you'll be able to cross the Avon River over the Pulteney Bridge. Another iconic monument that you'll be able to see is Bath Abbey. Constructed in the 15th century, it is one of the last Gothic-style churches ever built. If you so choose, you will also have the opportunity to enter the famous Roman Baths. Did you know the city of Bath owes its name to this ancient spa complex? Learn about Roman Britain and two millennia of history of this place.
